Tribal Effect

After a yummy breakfast of cottage cheese and apple slices, I am ready to face another dreary, rainy day. Again, I chose some bright, festive colors to lift the spirits. The only change I might make to the outfit in the future would be to add a belt.

Sooo in Love

I love, love this denim dress so much! It is from NY&Co. Too bad nearly all the sizes are sold out already!

Mellow Yellow

Cloudy day, so I wanted to bring a little sunshine to my outfit today. I love yellow...it always puts a smile on my face. One of my favorite color combos is yellow, black and white.

Retail Therapy

Tara and I made the journey to IKEA yesterday. It was kind of eerie since the last time we tried to make the trip we ended up getting hit by a semi. The weather was rainy, but we made it!! Driving passed the accident site was a little strange. There was still a big crater in the ground where it happened. After we passed the site and drove for a bit, a semi passed us (the same company that had hit us) Surreal!

Anyway, the trip was a success this time and I came home with some great things:

Gorgeous new dishes. The beige color is perfect. New glasses...very simple, but fun. Cups, plates and bowls for Lauren in very fun colors!

Moody Monday

After an entire weekend with rain and storms...it is a Moody Monday. Still very gloomy with rain lingering in the air. I love the color orange...so vibrant and fun. So today I based my outfit around my fun orange flats.

Happy Day

Jas got offered a job in sales/estimating yesterday!!! Finally, after 7 months of searching, something worked out. It is less pay than he was making, but it is a step in the right direction and we are thrilled that he found something. So many people are without jobs right now. I pray things turn around for our country soon.

All Trenched Up

Today is suppose to hit 63, but it was a bit chilly this morning. I decided to wear my classic trench coat to keep the chill out. Pretty basic today in dark colors. The bracelet is my added POP of color.

Frumpy to Fabulous

Today is rather chilly and rainy. So I wanted to be warm and stylish. Work is a pretty casual environment, so jeans work. This outfit makes me feel pretty good...no frumpiness here!

Feeling Good

I think we are finally all back to normal (or close at least) That flu bug and head cold really kicked all our butts last week.

I have managed to lose about 16 lbs so far and I am feeling great. I had to drop a size already and that made me very happy. So in honor of that, I am starting to dress less frumpy! FINALLY! I think I will start posting some of my outfits. I love looking at other blogs of women who post their outfits for inspiration.

Tara and I are going to attempt a trip to IKEA this weekend...we are both nervous, but know we just have to do it. It has been 4 and half months since the accident. I know the only way to move forward is to attack it head on.

Gorgeous Friday!!

Today is absolutely beautiful. Sunny, not a cloud in sight and a high of 72. This is the perfect spring day. Even better, we are all back to normal...nearly. I still have a slight head cold, but that is tolerable. Our appetites have not come back fully, but that is ok too.

Being sick did have it's advantage....I am down 16 lbs now! YAY!

Jason is on his was to Minneapolis this morning to test for a job. I am hoping this works out for him. Nothing like driving 5 hours there, test for 2 hours and then drive 5 hours home.

Tomorrow we plan to take Lauren to the Badger Football Spring Fun Day. The kids can meet Badger athletes, play games and such. In the afternoon we have Lyla's 1st birthday party. Hard to believe she is going to be one already. I made a DVD with pictures of her first year...I cannot wait for everyone too see it. It is a complete surprise!

Sunday, Lauren is spending the day with Jason's mom and stepdad. I am meeting my friend, Mindy, for brunch. I will surprise her with her invitiations. I got them all done!! Only took me a week...not too bad.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and enjoys this amazing weather!

Easter 2009

So ladylike

Back To Normal

The weekend was a tough one....Saturday night Lauren threw up 5 times. After lots of laundry and baths, we finally got a few hours of sleep. She seemed better on Sunday and we enjoyed Easter at my parents house.

Monday I went to work and was still battling my head cold. Jas called about 10:00 to say Lauren threw up in his car. I went home to help out. Poor thing was still sick. She hardly ate anything and threw up again about 5pm. Thankfully she slept well all night. Jas on the otherhand, got sick and threw up numerous times Monday night. He spent the night in the basement.

Tuesday morning I woke up to Lauren calling me about 6am. I got up and knew I was about to battle this flu bug too. It took all I had to get Lauren up and dressed. I fed her some cereal and called my mom. The angel that she is, came and took Lauren for the day. I spent the rest of the day and night in bed (puking, fever, diarrhea, you name it) Jas and I were both so sick. It was the worst I have ever felt.

Thankfully, this morning we both felt 100 times better. I showered and went to work. Mom dropped Lauren off (she had 5 diarrhea diapers yesterday, but seemed fine otherwise) at home. Jas said they were doing well so far today.

This thing totally kicked our butts! I hope to god we do not experience that again....ever! I also pray that my parents or the rest of the family do not get it. Especially with Lyla's first birthday party on Saturday.

Busy Times Ahead

Well spring feels like it has finally sprung. Today is gorgeous....sunny and in the 50's. I love it! Took Lauren to the park after work yesterday. We had a great time...swinging, going down the slides, just running around. I cherish these days so much. Watching her run around yesterday, it really hit me just how grown up she is getting.

I got all the supplies for the wedding invitations and have begun work on them. I hope my design comes out looking great! All these ideas in my head that are about to come to life. So, I have a date with my cutting board and double sided tape!

Friday, the in-laws want to have Lauren stay overnight, so Jas and I may have a "date" night and go see a movie or something. Sunday is Easter and I am looking forward to hanging out with family. We decided to go nontraditional this year and have lasagna instead of ham. I cannot wait!

I have lost nearly 12 lbs and am really starting to see a difference. It feels so good to have made this kind of progress. I hope it can continue over the next 5 months.

Day 4

Day 4 of potty training. Lauren did awesome again yesterday....no accidents and went pee 4 times and poop once. She is at daycare today, so I hope she does well again. I am so excited at how well she is doing.

Next big step will be attempting to move her to a big girl bed...again. We tried it back in November, but she was not ready. She really loves freedom. I gotta find some ideas for ways to make her stay in bed. Who knows maybe that will be easier now too. She is such an independant little girl...when she is ready to do something, she does it.

We are pretty such she is going to be left handed as well. Great for pitching and bball. Haha!

What a Weekend

We were expected to get hit with a spring snowstorm yesterday and thankfully it ended up being a dusting of snow and frigid temps! Whew!

Saturday, we had a nice day. Jason, Lauren and I ran to the Super Walmart to get stuff for easter baskets. Lauren loves the "moving stairs" and had a blast. We got home in time to turn around and head to the city's easter egg hunt. Lauren played a couple games, watched the Easter Bunny from a safe distance and nabbed a few eggs before we headed home. After lunch and a nice nap, we met up with Tara and Aubrey for a playdate at the park. The weather was cool, but nice. The girls played for an hour...swinging, slides, running, you name it! We decided to take the girls out to dinner at a local diner. They did great and we all had a great time.

Yesterday, my mother in law and father in law stopped out to see us. Lauren was thrilled to hang out with grandma and grandpa for a few hours. I got some cleaning and laundry done. The biggest news of the weekend happened at about 7:30 last night. We were all hanging out downstairs and Lauren was over playing with her dollhouse. All of a sudden she got up and headed down the hall. The bathroom light went on and about 4 minutes later she called for me. I went in and she had peed on her potty! Jas and I were sooo happy and excited. We kept telling her what a big girl she was. Not to be outdone by a little peeing, 10 minutes later she got up and headed to the bathroom again. After about 5 minutes she called again and had gone poop! Seriously, I know only parents can get excited about this kind of thing, but I am thrilled that we may be nearing the end of diapers!!!

Spoke Too Soon

Ugh...I feel awful this morning. I am achy, freezing and my stomach is very queasy. I have a bad feeling about this. I could only do half of my workout this morning before I felt like I might pass out.

Damn viruses!!!

Spring??

Where the heck are ya?? Snow flurries, wind and high's in the 30's is NOT spring! Would you hurry up and get here already!

Just survived another round of illness at home. Lauren came down with some nasty bug that caused a 101 fever and terrible diarrhea! I called the nurse after day 3 to see if there was anything we could do. Not for someone as young as she is and, of course, it could last up to 2 weeks. Thankfully, she seemed back to normal yesterday...so 5 days. Poor Jason got it on Saturday and it caused him to vomit. I have managed to stay healthy so far (KNOCKING ON WOOD HERE)

My parents arrive back home tomorrow. They have been in Arkansas since Dec 27th. I know Lauren can't wait to have her grandma and papa back. I pray they have a safe trip back.

I got the bridesmaid dresses ordered last Friday and am preparing to order all the materials to make the invitations and programs very soon. The next 5 months are going to fly by...we have so much going on.
