Oh Dear!

While Lauren and I were hanging out together all day Monday (due to her fever), we did a number of things. Baked blueberry muffins, colored, played Candyland, got gas for the "thirsty" car, danced, read books, sang songs, etc. This age truly is so much fun...until a meltdown happens. Thankfully, we really didn't have any of those at all.

We were coloring in her giant Mickey Mouse coloring book. I was coloring Minnie's dress and she was working on Donald Duck's hat, when all of a sudden I hear her gasp and say, "Oh dear!" I stopped coloring and looked up at her. Again, her little face was all puckered up and her eyebrows were in a stern look. "Oh dear, mommy."

I asked her what was the matter while stiffling a laugh. She proceeded to tell me that she used the wrong color and now she ruined the picture. I told her she can use whatever color she wants because it is her art. She seemed satisfied with that and continued coloring.

Where did she pick up that phrase? She sounded like a sweet little old lady. Now, whenever something goes wrong I hear her say, "Oh dear!" It is so cute and I definately prefer it over a massive meltdown.
