Sell...Sell...Sell

Tonight is my mother in law's big party. I have made about 40 items to try to sell, so I hope it goes well.

6 Years - Wedded Bliss

Hard to believe Jas and I have been married 6 years on Sunday. Still seems like yesterday, especially when I look at pictures. The weather was quite cold and rainy, but it was still one of the best days of my life. I love you Jas more and more every day and I am so thankful for you. You gave me the most precious gift of all, Lauren. Happy Anniversary!!

Below are a few of my favorite shots from our wedding day!

The first time I ever saw my father cry. The only other time was the day Lauren was born.

Design Your Jeans

Tired of finding jeans that fit your body type perfectly? Is there even such a thing? I discovered IndiDenim and this makes it possible to create the perfect pair of jeans for you. While I have not ordered a pair for myself, I did play around on the site and let me tell you the options are endless. Now the price is a bit steep for someone like me who usually spends $30-50 for a pair of jeans, but considering how much you wear them, what is a perfect pair worth? These jeans start at $145 and go up with some special added options.

Look at it this way...if you were to wear this pair of jeans 3 days a week for the entire year, that is 156 times. That means less then $1 each time you wear them. I just may be talking myself into trying this someday.

Super Creepy Vacation

A friend of mine, a guy I dated back in my teens, posted this on his FB page the other day. Talk about a creepy vacation. I attached the picture he mentions on the bottom.

Hiked Half Dome and ended up a murder suspect... No, I'm not even kidding. Ok, this is kind of a long story, but worth telling since a few of you have heard part of it. If you look at the pictures of my trip to Yosemite last weekend you'...ll see that my buddy Tom and I ended up on Half Dome in the middle of the night (about 5 AM) before sunrise and prior to making the 3 hour hike back to "civilization" (aka the Curry Village camping area) at about 7 AM. When we got back there was a park ranger waiting to question us because we were the first two to make the hike back from half dome. We were asked if we knew anything about a death there earlier that morning... We had no idea and when we left everything seemed fine. BUT, if you look in the attached picture you'll see that there's a guy in the back left of the picture on the phone. We explained to the ranger that we saw only one person who was alone and that he was by himself on the phone, which is a little strange considering most people don't hike all that way there just to talk on the phone. A special agent soon contacted us to get copies of all of our pictures because we were the only people they could talk to since half dome is so remote. We were told that they believed the guy committed suicide, but that they had to investigate it as a homicide first. AND since Tom and I were the only other two in the area (check my album, the picture I took of where we slept is only about 20 feet away from where the body was found after we left) we had to be "ruled out as suspects". When they called up to the park official who had made their way to scene the clothing description matched that of the guy on the phone, so everyone believed that he was the victim. After getting copies of the pictures on my camera of me on the diving board (like my profile picture and the one that is attached) we were allowed to leave. Tom and I are back at my apartment in San Francisco when I talk to the lead investigator again. He thanks me for the pictures again because he says that they were able to figure out that the guy on the phone was actually NOT the victim and that because my pictures are time stamped they realized that the victim had taken his own life before anyone got to the top of half dome that night. (Which explained why nobody up there had heard a gunshot) He told me to look at my pictures again and directed me to the attached photo and the feet in the lower left of the picture... The man took his own life in the middle of the night and likely thought he would fall over the edge. Tom and I slept just feet away and had actually walked over that area looking for the best place to sleep on the side of the rock (the east side so that the sunrise would wake us up) Nobody noticed anything until about 20 mins after we left because the light level was still relatively low (the camera is picking up a lot more light than our eyes could at that hour) Anyway, there were never any charges, but Tommy and I were the lead suspects for a few hours until they could prove it was suicide. Creepy, no?

First Day of Fall

Today officially begins fall. I love it! We are getting some much needed rain today as well. First rain since August 28th. This past weekend was a lot of fun.

Friday, I was behind the same kind of semi that hit me in the accident in January. Con-way...that name will never leave my mind.

Lauren loves to color...in her Hannah Montana leotard.

On the way to a cookout. Love her 70's inspired dress?

Getting ready to root for the Packers!

Sunday, I spent the day with my closest college friends at the Brewers game. We had gorgeous weather and the 4 of us tailgated, grill and all.

We try to do something like this once a year. We lucked out with perfect weather and a great game. Can't wait to do it again.
This weekend is our 6th anniversary. I am also working a wedding on Saturday. Looking forward to doing that stuff again.

TGIFabulous!

It has been another gorgeous day here. 75 and sunny! We have not had rain since the day I left for Mindy's wedding...August 28th. While things are getting a bit dry around here, I am soaking up these final days of summer. Fall is starting to make it's mark though. Leaves are already changing colors and falling to the ground in some places.

And what do we have on tap for this weekend? I need to make a dessert for a softball party on Saturday night and a fruit salad for our Brewer game tailgate on Sunday. I also need to CLEAN my house terribly. So, I am sure to have some pictures to share next week of my weekend.

On a final note, I have always loved hats and was envious of how some girls can just pull it off and look so adorable. Well, last week I broke down and got a couple cute hats since they were very cheap. I tried them on last night and I was actually pleasantly surprised that I didn't look like a complete dufuss. Maybe I will take some pics of that as well and see what you think...if I can pull off the hat look or not.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

New Creations

Every year my MIL and SIL throw a party at their house where people can come and buy Silpada jewelry and Tastefully Simple. They serve adult beverages and appetizers and it is a great time. Well, this year they asked me to sell some of my craft stuff. So I have been busy making notecards and some new ideas: gift bags, tissue and card packs and reuseable gift card/money holders.

Carousel

This weekend came and went quickly as most do. Middle of September already...wow. Saturday, we invited my brother and Lyla over to have lunch and watch the Badger game since Jill was gone to a wedding.

Having some pizza

These pictures make me laugh. Lauren is coloring and Lyla is trying to "help".

On Sunday, we decided to take advantage of the nice weather we have been having. About 2 weeks with straight sun and no rain. We decided to hit the zoo and then take Lauren to lunch at Ella's Deli. Ella's is a popular place in Madison. It has great food, ice cream and is decorated with lots of fun and crazy things. They also have a giant carousel outside that you can ride on.

She makes a cute penguin, no?

Posing with the giraffe

She liked the turtles

No more pictures, please!

Marching

After lunch, she got her ride on the carousel.

We were proud she picked the Wisconsin Badger horse.

We had a great time. We came home and watched football and I worked on getting a bunch of things made for my MIL party in 2 weeks. I will post pictures of those soon too.
FUNNY: Lauren was asking Jason who the 2 teams were on the TV yesterday. It was the Baltimore Ravens and The New Orleans Saints (I think) Anyway, Jas asked who she wanted to win and she said, "Um...the raisins daddy."
